Beshken & CLAVVS to play Day 2 of Austin Pedal & Synth Expo Showcase, 03.16

FREE Eventm RSVP here! Info about Day One here!

For our upcoming Austin Pedal & Synth Expo Showcase, we are excited to get to feature the music of a couple of NYC locals. The electronic music Beshken makes is meditative and complex, weaving between digital and acoustic instruments with dreamlike results. His latest track, “Cursed”, picks its way between honey smooth synths and dissonant vocal effects, reflecting on the mental revolutions between sleep and insomnia. On the other end, while their lyrics too reflect on sleepless thoughts, the music of CLAVVS is rather lucid. The production on their most recent single “Devils I Know” places the vocals at the forefront of a hypnotic and unexpectedly baroque electronic backdrop. The Expo will be held on March 16th at the Chugging Monkey - listen to CLAVVS, Beshken and the other artists who will appear below. - Sunny Betz

CLAVVS plays SXSW + celebrates EP release at the Knit on 03.29

The Brooklyn dream-pop duo known as CLAVVS has always had their feet squarely planted in the realm of electronic soul-pop. Swaying soundscapes and luscious vocals were synthesized into a potent formula. Yet with this recent run of new singles to promote their upcoming EP No Saviors, the pair have cracked open new patterns to make their distinct ideas sound infinitely more versatile. Lay Back adds a baroque flourish (reminiscent of some Tricky's best ideas) that crashes down like a waterfall of strings, while the title track (streaming below) bursts with polyrhythms and self-assured brashness. Retaining their hazy aura and breaking out of the dream pop bubble with exuberance is a balancing act that CLAVVS pulls off with the utmost ease. - Tucker Pennington

Cyber Buzz alert: CLAVVS tops Hype Machine Charts with "Lay Back"

Synthpop Brooklyn duo (via Atlanta) CLAVVS has been catching a lot of cyber-fan attention recently by topping the Hype Machine charts with singles Lay Back (streaming) and Slow DiveThe group has already two well received full length albums under their belt, but are showing no signs of slowing down. Atmospheric and easy on the ear without ever sounding banal, this year's singles show a noteworthy growth in the songwriting department, which is a promising sign for a project whose songs aim at moving the listeners' feelings more than their body, boosted by vocalist Amber Renee's soulful and melancholic alto. You can catch them live with TEEN on January 16 at Baby’s All Right.
